Military Spouse Transition Coaching

Kristin learned very quickly why transition coaching can be beneficial during periods where multiple major life events are all happening at once. Kristin got married, quit her full-time job, left an environment where she was constantly surrounded by others (she actually lived at work!), and moved to another country all within a few months. Though excited to join her husband for a new adventure, what she found was instant isolation while living off the installation and few who could relate to the drastic change she was experiencing and not enjoying. It was the integration into military life as a spouse that brought resentment and loss of sense of self. All the benefits of military life felt like restriction as she wrestled to find her independence while now being called a dependent of a service member. Countless hours of walking the busy yet lonely streets of South Korea grew her in ways she never expected and ultimately showed her the importance of redefining her purpose and finding her joy again.

Many of the mindset shifts, practical skills, and goal setting strategies learned through her education and better developed through other transitions in her life (sport and eating disorder recovery) ultimately helped Kristin through this challenging period. If you are a military spouse who can relate to any of the above thoughts and is looking for guidance on how to begin finding clarity in your purpose or accountability to stay focused on your potential, Kristin would love to climb the mountain with you and share the view.
