Eating Disorder Meal Support / Recovery Skills Coaching
Kristin’s own transformational story of eating disorder recovery as an elite level athlete in the sport of rhythmic gymnastics propelled her into a lifelong passion of walking alongside those navigating their own recovery. There can be many transitions within one’s eating disorder recovery journey as well. Whether stepping down from a higher level of care, working with an outpatient team and returning to school, or returning to sport after treatment, in collaboration with your dietitian and therapist, Kristin would love to be a part of your support team by providing meal support and/or recovery skills coaching.
During meal support sessions, Kristin will share a meal with you and provide a compassionate presence, encourage accountability in following a pre-established meal plan from your treatment team, walk you through challenging fear foods, and help you stay grounded through any anxiety that may arise. During recovery skills coaching, Kristin will explore topics such as motivation, coping strategies, and the reframing of unhelpful thought patterns. She will guide you in developing skills rooted in CBT and DBT evidence-based practices, encourage mindfulness and self-compassion practices, and support you in navigating triggers and the day-to-day challenges of recovery. Kristin hopes to create a space where individuals feel safe to authentically be themselves as they explore their own identity, discover personal acceptance, and truly begin to believe in their own value, worth, and purpose. She approaches each session with the genuine desire to learn about each person’s unique story and support them where they are on their journey toward freedom from their eating disorder.
Kristin has had the privilege of supporting individuals at the residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient treatment levels as a recovery coach since 2016. More of Kristin’s story can be found in the following two publications she has had the opportunity to contribute to:
